A note to Anna’s fans:
My name is Melissa Byrum, also known as Missy. I met Anna Nicole
Smith, who I refer to as “Nicki” in 1987. We immediately became best friends and
roommates. I was with Nicki, before, during and after her rise to stardom. We
experienced many bizarre times together. After she landed the Playboy contract,
I became her personnel assistant and managed her daily affairs until 1993.
Because of my friendship with Nicki, I have always remained silent. After Nicki
and Daniels death, I watched the drama unfold on T.V. and couldn’t bear the
silence any longer. No one could answer the questions being posed by the media
concerning Anna’s rise to stardom. I grew furious as I watched Virgie Arthur,
Anna’s Mother, be vilified in the media. I witnessed Virgie rescue Anna Nicole
Smith time and time again. After being approached by many media outlets, I
decided to tell my story in a book, so the facts could not be manipulated. I was
there through it all, and I am now willing to share my life with Nicki with all
of you!
The story is happy, sad and maybe immoral at times, but it is all
true!
I hope you gain a new perspective about Anna Nicole Smith after
reading my book. Deep down, she was always Vickie Lynn Smith, just a small town
Texas girl with dreams larger than life!
